About

M. Gardner is a fiction writer who believes in the power of storytelling to heal, connect, and transform. He began writing at age 21, originally as a personal challenge to cope with loss and emotional upheaval. What started as a way to make sense of life quickly became his greatest passion—one book led to another, and writing became not only a craft but a lifeline.

Diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2016, M is committed to challenging the stigma around mental illness. Through fiction and public storytelling, he hopes to normalize conversations about mental health and show that people with diagnoses like his can lead full, creative, and meaningful lives. “I’m just a person with a little glitch,” he says. “Writing helped me find peace with that.”In addition to writing, M loves film, cooking, and music. He runs a podcast channel—CryptidHauntings– where he and his family ask the hard questions, like is that a multidimensional being in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
